Each spring, groups around the World hold vegan bake sales as part of the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale (WVBS). Participants can do whatever they want to with the proceeds. The WVBS was named “Veg Event of the Year” by VegNews magazine. It has raised about 300,000 dollars for a variety of worthy causes, and has introduced nearly that many people to the deliciousness and diversity of vegan baked goods.
We decided to take part this year and raise funds for Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary. The event was held in Leigh Community Centre and was a great success. The baked goods on offer were,
Pitta Pizzas, Chocolate brownies, Cookies, Cupcakes with different flavours such as Cherry Bakewell, Chocolate Oreo, Vanilla to name a few. It was a really lovely day and £176.00 was raised for the Sanctuary.
